Cemetery Board

The Cemetery Board oversees the general care, management, and supervision of the municipal cemetery. The Cemetery Sexton maintains the records of the cemetery and reports directly to the Mayor and Cemetery Board regarding the operation and maintenance of the cemetery.

Health Board

The Health Board enacts rules and regulations to safeguard the health of the people of the city. The Board shall enforce the rules and regulations and provide fines and punishments for any violations. It may regulate, suppress, and prevent the occurrence of nuisances and shall actively enforce all state laws and city ordinances relating to nuisances and matters of sanitation.

The Health Board meets in the city office at 1:00 p.m. on the Tuesday immediately prior to the City Council meeting.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission shall (1) make and adopt plans for the physical development of the city; (2) prepare and adopt such implemental means  as a capital improvement program, subdivision regulations, building codes, and a zoning ordinance in cooperation with other interested municipal departments; (3) consult with and advise public officials and agencies, public utilities, civic organizations, educational institutions, and citizens with relations to the promulgation and implementation of the Comprehensive Development Plan and its implemental programs.
